To create a flagship lifestyle store located within Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
./Manchester’s Northern Quarter is known as the trendy area of the city, with vibrant street art, independent fashion shops and unique bars and restaurants. It’s also home to live music venues, art studios and craft exhibitions.
Our client was looking to lease a retail unit within this exciting location and required the expertise of ./SSD to create a concept design scheme that would help in securing the rental agreement.
After a recent trip to Hong Kong (JEALOUS!) our client wanted to include elements taken from his travels within the design. This also linked to his LOVE for expensive trainers and the retail experience of Mong-Kok. Using this as inspiration and with research into consumer trends found within the Northern Quarter the
./SSD team were able to create an innovative design for a LIFESTYLE store.
The space itself was divided into areas that would showcase products suited to the stores clientele of 25-35 year old males.
These areas included TRADITIONAL TUCK SHOP, STREET ART GALLERY, T-SHIRT PRINTING LAB, and HIGH-END SNEAKER STORE.
The ./SSD team turned the traditional ways of shopping upside down and instead of creating a store that encouraged the consumer to buy and leave, THIS store provided a social space where the consumer was invited to meet, chat and relax with friends and share THIS unique retail experience.
